Understand
No language matches. Which page should appear?
x-default represents a neutral destination or an explicit default variant.
According to Google
The x-default value serves users whose language does not match any explicitly declared variant.
Check
The fallback page. Its intended visitors.
In TSEP Control
You import evidence for this control. The engine assesses it within the declared scope; missing items remain visible.
Your contribution
Define the scope and expectations before collection. Gather the items below and supply the requested reviews.
With your own tools
Identify supported languages and the intended behavior for other visitors. Open x-default and check its availability and consistency with that policy.
Evidence to retain
Prior policy/context, original HTTP and hashes, primary/secondary observations, original bound reviews, dates and unknowns.
What this result covers
Supplied scope, no representative audience or authenticated semantic role; HTTP200 does not detect error templates/soft404s. No translation, Google visit, indexing, completeness or global conformity.
Act
A fallback choice. A relevant destination.
Choose a destination consistent with the language policy and document its role.
Recheck
Languages evolve. Does the fallback fit?
After correction, gather new evidence with the same scope and expectations. Retain both dated observations to compare what changed.

Statuses, sources and method.
Understand the statusesC · NC · NT · NA
The same legend in guides, analysis and demo. Each status depends on the control’s evidence and rules.
- C · Verified
- The criterion is met within the assessed scope. Keep dated evidence for the next comparison.
- NC · To correct
- Choose a destination consistent with the language policy and document its role.
- NT · Not established
- Evidence or confirmations are insufficient to conclude. Supply what is missing; this status does not establish an SEO error.
- NA · Not applicable
- The control does not apply to the scope under its rules, with a retained justification. Missing evidence alone does not make it non-applicable.

Detailed method and rules1 rule
Control method and criteria
Method
Read native HTML/HTTP Link observations; check destination, motivated context, captured availability and bound supplied role review; retain unknowns and contested reviews.
Acceptance criteria
Qualified presence/context, policy-consistent target, original200 and consistent supplied review. Independently evidenced failure is NC; no inferred approval or semantic validity.
Non-applicability
No native NA or manual override; historical manual dossiers stay separate, optional absence is inconclusive.
Detailed rules
TS24-A01 · Documented x-default role in the prior context.
Protocol assessment mode : assisted, with supplied evidence and declarations. App availability is shown on the control card.
Scope
Group and x-default policy supplied before capture; bounded xdefault-role-v1 profile.
Evidence
Prior policy/context, original HTTP and hashes, primary/secondary observations, original bound reviews, dates and unknowns.
Method
Read native HTML/HTTP Link observations; check destination, motivated context, captured availability and bound supplied role review; retain unknowns and contested reviews.
Acceptance criteria
Pass requires every surface qualified, an unambiguous expected target, its original200 and bound consistent review. Fail for qualified required-primary absence, any qualified target conflicting with the unique policy destination, including among multiple declarations, attributable404/410, contradicted URL distinctness or one bound defect review. Otherwise inconclusive.
When the result remains inconclusive
Missing/unqualified plan, context, original or review; unqualified declarations or divergent hypotheses without an independent contradiction, contested reviews, status outside200/404/410, relevant unexamined channel or missing required runtime.
Non-applicability
No native NA or manual override; historical manual dossiers stay separate, optional absence is inconclusive.
Assumptions
Prior plan and one motivated context; one non-redirect GET per original, window<=24h, two static HTML hypotheses. Supplied review, unauthenticated author.
Limitations
Supplied scope, no representative audience or authenticated semantic role; HTTP200 does not detect error templates/soft404s. No translation, Google visit, indexing, completeness or global conformity.
